Salford City Council

We recently hosted members of the Salford City Council team at our May training day in Yorkshire, and we caught up with them again recently with a quick-fire Q&A to learn more about their rewilding plans.

Q: What were your views on the Wildflower Turf Ltd AP day that you attended in May?

A: The trainers were inspiring and highly professional, and the knowledge gained about the different options for the installation of wild flowers was really useful.

Q: What was your original motivation for attending the course?

A: We wanted to further our work around the installation of wildflowers across the city and enhance our knowledge base.

Enhancement of a local Salford roundabout with wildflowers.

Q: What has been done around Salford to date in terms of wildflowers / biodiversity improvements? (And what has the feedback from the public been like?)

A: We have rewilded a number of sites and public feedback about our wild flowers has been extremely positive. We also regularly receive requests for further installations.

Q: What are your future plans in terms of wildflowers / biodiversity enhancement?

A: We will continue to identify further sites for planting within Salford in order to improve the biodiversity of our region.

Public opinion has been very positive.

Wildflower Turf Ltd will be hosting a further Council-only training day in September. Give us a call on 01256 771222 or email Stephanie to book: stephanie@wildflowerturf.co.uk. Alternatively, you can learn more about this upcoming training day here.

Finally, many thanks to the Salford team for their input into our Summer Newsletter! We look forward to hearing of more rewilding stories as this initiative progresses.
