This newsletter, we’re introducing you to our new Turf Manager, Sam Monaghan. Sam stepped into his latest role with us in January of this year, just in time for one of the busiest production periods we have ever experienced!
Not a job for the faint-hearted, Sam has plenty of experience and has worked with Wildflower Turf Ltd for a number of years, joining us back in 2013 on a part-time basis while studying and then returning to us every summer to help out on the production side of the business.
A Hampshire local, Sam grew up in the village of Overton, a literal stones-throw from the Wildflower Turf Ltd Farm. Venturing north, Sam then studied Civil Engineering at the University of Sheffield. Following university, Sam spent the next 18 months living in London and working on the consulting side of technical software sales with Fortune 500 companies as clients. But the call of the wild(flowers) was strong, and Sam returned to us and joined the production team as a full-time member of staff in December 2019.
In his spare time, Sam enjoys cricket and is the Club Treasurer of Overton Cricket Club, has formally been a member of the Army Officer Training Corps, and plays the guitar with a local church band.
And the best bits about his job? “A fun team and a diverse role working with great products that also benefit the environment.”
